Plot

The story starts in an isolated town where Lulu Danger works as a waitress for a coffee shop operated by her spouse, Shane. One evening, Lulu notices a commercial for a fascinating live event while watching T.V. The show is called An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn, conducted for only one evening and scheduled to be held at the town’s hotel. Lulu gets excited about the event on seeing the commercial of Beverly, who she keeps hidden back somewhere in a dresser drawer. When Shane learns that Adjay, Lulu’s brother, owns more wealth than he does and that he puts his life savings in a lockbox at his spice business, he becomes angry and furious. Shane obtains the lockbox with the help of his immature workers, Tyrone and Carl, but Adjay spots him right away. Adjay comes across Colin, a homeless, at the launder afterward and speaks to him about his current situation. Colin offers to provide the lockbox for $200. When Colin meets the Danger, Lulu catches him peeking outside and considers him to be one of Shane’s friends. He draws a gun on Shane and seek for the lockbox, however Lulu steps in and takes authority, forcing him to drive her to the hotel, eliminating Colin’s gun and reacquiring the lockbox. The story continues to proceed with a lot of comedy.

Star Performance

All the characters are great from top to bottom, but for me especially Lulu's brother Adjay, super Colin and Lulu. You will enjoy the actors and the movie works both creatively and visually in getting the dark comedy indie vibe. You will love the cheesy 70's 80's décor and the scenes that are unique and that you never know what to expect. The plot is simply, Strange, quirky, silly and bizarre.

Analysis

This is a beautiful film unlike any other you have seen, the quirky characters come to life and while the main plot is a Coen Brothers lite heist gone wrong, it is the gentle, romantic and moving performances that will stay with you. It’s a disunite film that some may love and find it too funny but others may find it too uncanny and unnatural to absorb the scenes. Deceptively simplistic, everything in this movie is bright and through and possesses a wild ride of vast portions of dead pan comedy and evident humor.

What’s There?

  • Great humor & performances make this mysterious film quite enjoyable.
  • The ending is genuine, and heart endearingly funny.

What’s Not There?

  • The performances could have been better.
  • The film could have been made simpler so that a vast audience would have been satisfied.

Verdict

If you love flashy plastic super hero action movies, this is not for you but this can make you go through a truly artistic experience. Altogether, it is a beautiful and hilarious mix between Twin Peaks and Napoleon Dynamite.
