Kyle McDougall

Kyle McDougall is a cinematographer, writer, and producer known for the animation television series Crash Canyon, the flick Thomas & Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor, series DC Super Hero Girls: Super Shorts and A Tale Dark & Grimm.

Dougall pursued film production at Confederation College from 2004-2006. After that, he worked for television for six years as a cinematographer and editor. However, he later opened his own production company, Outpost Visuals in 2018.

Kyle Mac Dougall, along with two others, conceived and created the 2011 Canadian animated sitcom Crash Canyon, which was helmed by Greg Lawrence. It features characters belonging to different families like the Wendells, the Butanes, the Manderbelts, Sarah Forbes, among others.

The series focuses on the Wendells who, while on their way to vacation, fall into a canyon in Alberta, Canada, and find it impossible to climb out of it. However, to their surprise, they discover that there are others within, who have met the same fate, and have been living in the canyon since.

Mac Dougall is also credited with the animation direct-to-DVD flick Thomas & Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor, released in 2017. Dougall worked as an executive producer for the film, helmed by David Stoten. The film is inspired by The Railway Series penned by Wilbert Awdry and the British television series Thomas & Friends based on the same books.

The Canadian producer has the credit of serving as a production supervisor for fifty-two episodes of the animated television series DC Super Hero Girls. Dougall worked for series under the banner of Jam Filled Entertainment.

He also worked as an executive producer for an episode of the 2021 television series A Tale Dark and Grimm, helmed by Jamie Whitney. The series follows the adventures of Hansel and Gretel who, in search of more amicable parents, flee their home only to be transported to other Grimm tales. While traversing uncharted territory, the duo crosses paths with witches, dragons, and the devil. As a result, they become wiser and learn to chart their paths to create their own fairy tales with happy endings.

Dougall has served as an executive producer for other television series like Thomas & Friends: Meet The Characters!, The Casagrandes, The Loud House, Thomas & Friends, The Best of Thomas & Friends Clips (US), Pinky Malinky, et al.
