Heitor Dhalia

Heitor Dhalia is a Brazilian screenwriter and director. He was born on 18th January, 1970 at Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. He started directing at the age of 18 and has directed seven films and also screenplay for a film. A deriva was a film directed by Heitor Dahlia released in the year 2009, which was nominated at Cannes film festival in the Un Certain Regard. Heitor Dhalia directed his first film “A Pantomima da Morte “in the year 1988. His next film was “Conceicao” in the year 2000. In the year 2002, Heitor had done a screenplay for “As Tres Marias " which was a Brazilian-Italian crime drama film, directed by Byaluizio. Heitor Dhalia had written the story along with Wilson Freire.

It was a story of a woman who takes revenge on her former lover and his family with the help of her three daughters all of them named as Maria, which included Marieta Severo, Julia Lemmertz. This film was screened at panorama section of the 52nd berlin international film festival and HBF Harvest Section of 44th international film festival, Rotterdam. Heitor Dhalia directed “Nina” in the year 2004, which was a Brazilian drama film. It included animations throughout the film and was based on a crime and punishment novel. The story was about a girl who comes across adversity. The film’s star cast was Gulta Stresser as “Nina”.

Heitor Dhalia has also directed the movie “O Cheiro do Ralo “ released in the year 2006, a Brazilian film starring Selton Mello , based on the novel by Lourenco Matarelli. Apart from this, Heitor Dhalia has even produced films along with Joana Mariani, Marcelo Doria, Matias Mariani and Rodrigo Teixeira. Heitor Dhalia has written and directed the movie “A Deriva “ a Brazilian drama movie released in the year 2009 casting Camilla Bella , Vincent Cassel and Laura. He also directed the movie “Gone”, a box office bomb. The film starred Amanda and the movie is of 95 minutes. In 2013 Heitor dahlia wrote and directed the movie “Serra Pelada” along with vera. The Brazilian drama starred Juliano Cazarre and Sophia charlotte .

The movie was interesting where in two friends leave to find gold and reach amazon forest in their quest. One of them becomes a gangster and the other leaves his values behind for gold. This was shown very elegantly in the movie. It was distributed by Warner bros with a runtime of 100 minutes and was filmed in Sao Paulo released on 18th october 2013, with a budget of 10 million dollars. Heitor Dahlia also produced the movie “Restless love” released in the year 2016 which is a comedy drama film, It was produced along with Betti . Heitor Dahlia has been nominated for Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro for the category, Best Film, in the year 2010 for the movie Adrift(A Deriva) and was also nominated for Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro for the category Best Film in the year 2014 for the movie, serra Pelada
