National Film Awards 64 th is an award ceremony broadcast on Youtube. The first National Film Awards ceremony took place in the year 1953. The awards were given by the then president of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The first movie to win the award for the ‘Best Feature Film’ was Mirza Ghalib, directed by Sohrab Modi. The 64th awards ceremony awards was presented by Mr. Pranab Mukherjee on 3 May 2017. The ‘Best Feature Film’ award was given to Kaasav. The ‘Best Non-Feature Film’ award was given to the movie ‘Fireflies in the Abyss.’ The ‘Best Book’ award was bagged by the book called ‘Lata: Sur Gatha.’ The ‘Best Film Critic’ award was given to G. Dhananjayan. The ‘Dadadaheb Phalke Award’ was given to Kasinadhuni Viswanath. The most number of awards was bagged by the movies ‘Allama,’Dashkriya,’ and ‘Ventilator.’ The states of Utter Pradesh and Jharkhand were given the award for the ‘Best Film Friendly State.’ The jury members consisted of Manoj Kumar, Asha Bhosle, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, T.S. Nagabharana, and the legendary Kamal Haasan. The central jury members consisted of Priyadarshan, N. Chandra, K.J. Suresh, Girish Mohite, C.V. Reddy, Ashok Rane, Vasant S. Sai, Imo Singh, Deboshruti Roy Chowdhury, P.C. Reddy, and Devdas Chhottery.

The ‘Best Debut Film of a Director’ award was given to Alifa. The ‘Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment’ award was given to Sathamanam Bhavati. The ‘Best Children’s Film’ award was given to Dhanak. The ‘Best Animated Film’ was given to Mahoyodha Rama. The ‘Best Feature Film on National Integration’ was given to Dikchow Banat Palaax. The ‘Best Film on Other Social Issues’ award was given to the movie ‘Pink.’ The ‘Best Actor’ award was given to Akshay Kumar for the movie ‘Rustom.’ The ‘Best Actress’ award was given to Surabhi Lakshmi for Minnaminungu. The ‘Best Child Artist’ award was given to Railway Children, Sahaj Paather Gappo, and Kunju Daivam. Joker movie received the ‘Best Male Playback Singer’ award. The film, Praktan bagged ‘Best Female Playback Singer’ award. The ‘Best Cinematography’ award was bagged by 24. The ‘Best Screenplay’ award was given to Maheshinte Pranthikaaram and Dashakriya. The ‘Best Choreography’ award was given to Janatha Garage. The ‘Best Lyrics’ award was bagged by Praktan and Dharma Durai. The movie Allama bagged three awards namely ‘Best Make-up Artist,’ Best Music Direction,’ and ‘Best Music Direction.’ The ‘Best Feature Film in Hindi’ award was given to the movie ‘Neerja.’
