At the IDC, she did her Ph.D. Nina has made Mumbai her home after teaching for two decades at Ahmedabad's National Institute of Design. Her video and illustrated bookwork aim to combine animation and ethnography. Nina Sabnani is a Professor at IIT Bombay's Industrial Design Centre. She taught at NID, Ahmedabad, and oversaw the Animation and New Media disciplines for several years. Mukund and Riaz received critical acclaim worldwide, both as an animated film and an illustrated book published by Tulika.
Nina has illustrated and created several books for Tulika, including Best Friends and Home, an innovative and contemporary interpretation of the kaavad, a Rajasthani storytelling medium. My Mother's Sari was chosen as an Outstanding International Book for 2007 in the United States of America. Her most recent book, Stitching Stories, is based on her award-winning documentary Tanko Bole Chhe (The Stitches Speak). She's also the creator of the award-winning My Gandhi Story.
