Zaira is an Indian Television and Movie Actress. She was born on the 23rd of October in the year 2000. She belongs to the controversial state of Jammu and Kashmir and is a Kashmiri by birth. She turned 16 in 2016 and is currently studying in 10th standard in a missionary school in Kashmir. Zaira has revealed in an interview that it was Zaira’s aunt who convinced her parents to give her a chance. In the short journey of success, Zaira deeply regrets having to cut her hair for her role. Zaira portrays a boy cut in the film Dangal. She also went through vigorous body training for her role which resulted in multiple body injuries. She has admitted that the training to look and fight like a wrestler was pretty tough and took a lot of effort. She will be seen as an aspiring singer in Secret Superstar. She is open to taking up more roles in Hindi Cinema as long as her Bollywood career doesn’t affect her studies.

With the new year of 2017, Zaira faced a lot of shading and trolls on Social Media. The jokes on her started when a picture of her meeting Mehbooba Mufti, Chief Minister of J&K, surfaced and went viral on the World Wide Web. Her picture was clubbed with the picture of a girl blinded by pellets, who was meeting the CM during the Kashmir Unrest in the year 2016. Numerous celebrities and famous personalities condemned this harassment. She also received various threats. She finally responded to all these trolls by an open letter on Facebook where she apologized for her actions and stated that she didn't want to hurt anyone’s sentiments.
