Ila Bedi Dutta is an Indian writer turns producer who has been actively working on television for more than ten years now and she has gained expertise on every genre and medium. Aside from being the granddaughter of the popular writer, Rajendra Singh Bedi, she is also the daughter of the renowned director, which proves that she was born to an astounding and enormous ancestry. Her official training as a writer started when she was born and the natural talent that she possess comes from her genes since she belongs to a family that composed of creative thinkers.

Ila started writing after converting her grandfather’s short stories to a film script. Until one day, she received a call from actress and producer, who knew her father and asked her to do the screenplay of the Hindi drama series, Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, then she did and Milli. Since then, she started to do projects for the past years including the television serial, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, which she co-write with Anand Vardhan and . She also worked with Minakshi Gupta in creating the serial, Dishaein which was originally aired on DD National. This serial ranked number three on TRPs among all the serials on DD. Ila is also the co-writer of the romantic drama series, Kavyanjali in 2005, Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein in 2006, Virrudh in 2007, , Visarat, ‘Ek Veer Stri Ki Kahaani…Jhansi Ki Rani’ in 2009 and ‘Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan’ in 2012.

Ila also dreams to be a successful producer and since she have been writing for quite too long for other production houses, she decided to take a turn on her career and plunge into production. She, along with her brothers, Manik Bedi and along with many others started the Trilogy Krikos Ltd., and worked with their very first and successful soap opera, which stars and Sumit Vats.

She made her entry into the Bollywood after she donned the screenplay of the action drama film, Agneepath in 2012, along with Karan Malhorta. She also penned the upcoming biopic about the hockey player, Dhyan Chand. is said to play the main lead role in the forthcoming film under the direction of . She is also working for the screenplay of the upcoming Hindi film, Brothers which is set to release in 2015.
