Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 and his birth name is ‘Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia’. He is a great Bollywood actor who has acted in more than 100 movies. He is also a producer and martial artist. He has won The Filmfare awards a couple of times. He started off his career as an actor in 1990s, where he had stricken with action based movies initially. He has been greatly appreciated for his drama, romance and comic roles. He is considered to be the only Bollywood actor whose net box office collection is 20 million rupees. He has done a lot of dangerous stunts in movies without a body double. This did gain a name for him as 'Indian Jackie Chan'.

In the year 2008, Akshay Kumar was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of law by the University of Windsor for his contribution in acting. This was a huge pride for him. In 2009, the government of India awarded him the 'Padmashri'. In 2012, the Asian awards honoured him for his achievement in the cinema. He got married to in 2001 and he has two children namely Aarav and Nitara. Akshay Kumar is also busy with kickboxing, basket ball and swimming. He was named as 'The Sexiest Man Alive' by the People Magazine(India).

He also owned a couple of film production houses namely 'Hari Om Entertainment' and 'Gazing Goat Pictures'. His films like OMG, Special 26 and Holiday are immensely successful commercially and critically. He resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra. 'Singh is king' is a highly popular movie of Akshay Kumar. He has had touched upon all the aspects of films and flared as well. He turned up to be a rather promising star of the Bollywood film industry.
