Soumya Sadanandan was born on 22nd July; 1985 in Sooranad Kollam, a District in Kerala, India. She is a director and an actor in the Malayalam film industry. She was brought up at Thiruvananthapuram, who has completed her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya. After that, she earned a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. After getting a degree, she worked with Aditya Birla Minacs, Bengaluru for four years before joining Film Industry. In 2010, she joined the film industry. She had shot a one-minute-long short film named " Rooh Rooh is a Hindi horror serial broadcast on the ZEE >> Read More... " from her mobile phone, which tells about an individual embracing a new identity.
One One is a Telugu reality game show which airs on Ze >> Read More... of her friends, Rappamma, came up with the idea of the movie, which was based on “Women Empowerment”. She directed many films. Jawan of Vellimala (2012) was her first Malayalam Featured Film in which she was the assistant director. In the same year, she also directed another Malayalam Feature Film called Cinema Company, in which she also played a minor role. Then, in 2012 only she directed one TV Series named, "Ashanum-Ashathiyum" and one Short Film, I.e., Mystique Encounter. Then in 2013, she directed “One,” which is a Malayalam Featured Film in which she played a small role. " and then one Malayalam Feature Film, “David and Goliath” where she played the role of “Sharon”. In 2015, she directed the film Olappeeppi, where she played the role of Milli's friend.
In 2016, she directed the movie C/O Saira Banu When Saira made her debut in film Junglee, she was >> Read More... and then also made one documentary in the same year named "Chembai: My discovery of a legend,” where she played the role herself, this documentary also won “Best Documentary” at Allahabad International film festival (2016), an award in Signs Film Festival, Kerala (2016) and “Special Jury Award” at 64th National Film Festival, Kerala in 2017. Then in 2017, she directed a short film, “Rabbit Hole” which won “Best Cinematography,” “Best sound design,” and “Special Mention” for the screenplay at the Eastern Global Short film festival in 2018. Thus, we can say she was not only a talented director but also a wonderful actress.
