. Anuirudh appears in a cameo role in the song Manasilayo. Vettaiyan marks the Tamil debut of the Big B, who was supposed to debut with Uyarndha Manidhan with SJ Surya.
Plot
Athiyan is the Superintendent of Police. He is straightforward and believes that justice delayed is just denied. The death of a school teacher, Saranya, triggers a series of events. Athiyan faces Judge Satyadev, who supports human rights and firmly believes that justice hurried is justice hurried. An innocent man was killed in Athiyan’s encounter in Saranya’s case. After Satyadev informs him, Athiyan is shattered. He sets out with his team to start the investigation from the base. Will he succeed in his hunt? The rest of the story deals with it.
Star Performance
Superstar Rajini is superb, as usual, in his style. His body language and stylish expressions can just be a dream for anyone to replicate. He is always celebrated for his swag and charisma, but this film can be added to the list of his acting performances, too. Manju is good in the given role, yet not a strong role. Her dance for Manasilayo shatters the theaters. Fahadh is just superb. Big B did justice to the given role in his debut Tamil movie. Dushara has nothing extraordinary to do but is the main point of the plot. She has done what is required of her. Rana is neat in the given role. Ritika has done a good job.
Analysis

Verdict
Despite a few lags in the second half, the film is excellent in execution and performances. It is both the Superstar and a TJG film. Not only Rajini fans but all the general audience can watch the film definitely for once. Get Rajinified!
