Plot
Balu is a good dancer, and he aspires to become the next Prabhu Deva. Though he is branded as the PD junior in his school, he can’t achieve his goals and continues struggling in his career. Yet, he didn’t lose his hope and tries his best to become an actor. What were the hurdles he faced? Who helped him to achieve his goals? All these are shown in the rest of the film.
Star Performance
We can’t see the character Balu but Prabhu Deva. Prabhu Deva excels in his dance and the action sequences, as usual. Vedhika did a decent job, but her character is not projected well. The rest of the stars like, Riyaz Khan, Mime Gopi, and Kalabhavan Shajohn, just show their presence.
Analysis
We can simply say that Prabhu Deva is a miscast in this role. How did he accept this role and idolize himself, assuming that he is Balu? A lot of logical loopholes in the film that showcase the inability to provide a complete entertainer. Vedhika should have been used better. She did her best, but her character was not developed well. The antagonists just appeared and did what was asked of them. Their characters didn’t have much significance. Prabhu Deva plays Balu and attends auditions to become another Prabhu Deva. None of the people in the audition team told him that he looked like Prabhu Deva. At least they could’ve said that he is a doppelganger of PD master. The songs are not memorable. Why Imman? Action sequences are well-choreographed.

Verdict
If the film had some other person in the place of Prabhu Deva, at least the logic would’ve worked to an extent. Petta Rap – Not a must-watch!
