Shobana Vignesh

Shobana Vignesh is an Indian vocalist who has worked predominately in the Tamil music industry. Shobhana was born in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. Her father’s name was N. Kumar and her mother was Revathi Kumar. Shoba has spent most of her childhood days in Chennai. She has done her schooling from Padma Seshadri School. As a child, Shoba was fond of listening to classical songs and started learning it as she grew up. Shobana has been a student of various talented vocalists such as Sri. P.S. Narayanaswamy, Prof. T.R. Subramaniam, and Sri. Swamimalai Janakiraman. As an actor, Soba made her debut in her own recording debut Mahanadhi. It gave her a lot of fame and it has been one of her best albums.

Shobana has done 1500 plus recordings in her career in various languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Sanskrit, Braj, Marathi, Hindi, English, and Baduga. Shoba is one of the most talented vocalists of India and also among one of those few singers who have studied classical music. Shobana has done Ph.D. M Phil, Masters, and B.A. in Music. She has scored 8th Grade in Theory of Western Classical Music, Trinity College of Music, London, and 6th Grade in Practical Solo Piano, Trinity College of Music. Shoba has received various national, and international awards and in 2019, she got the Tamil Nadu Kalaimamani award.
