Early OTT Release For Madharaasi

It’s official, Madharaasi couldn’t make it to the box office.

After an underwhelming performance at the box office, the makers of Madharaasi have opted for an early OTT release. The crime drama will be streaming on the OTT platform Amazon Prime from October 1 onwards.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, the movie stars Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menon, and Vidyut Jammwal in prominent roles. The movie marked Murugadoss’ return to Tamil cinema after 5 years, his last venture being Darbar.

However, like his Hindi venture Sikandar, which starred Salman Khan in the lead role, Madharaasi never took off despite an above-average opening. The movie also broke the successful streak for Sivakarthikeyan, who was one of the few Tamil actors to have delivered one hit after another, his last commercial success being the war drama Amaran, which turned out to be the highest-grossing Tamil film of last year.
