Era Murukan (Murugan Ramasami) is a novelist, short story writer, poet, translator from Malayalam, and writer on information technology (IT) in Tamil. He was born in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu in 1953. His father was Na.C.Ramasamy and his mother was Meenakshi. He entered the world of literature in 1977 by publishing a new poem as his first work in Kanaiyazhi. His stories have been recorded and broadcasted in his voice on All India Radio, Chennai. He wrote Arasur Vamsam, also released in English as Ghosts of Arasur.
The first branded column in Tamil was ‘Ulage Ulage Udane Va’, written by him in Anandavikadan. He also wrote dialogues for Kamal Haasan’s ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’ released in 2009 and Ajith Kumar Ajith Kumar is a prominent Tamil film actor, model >> Read More... starrer Billa 2, released in 2011. He also appeared in the short film Number 40 Rettai Theru, released in 2010 based on ‘Number 40, Number 40 Rettai Theru, his novel. He has also received many awards for his works namely the Literary Thought Annual Award (Best Short Story), Katha Award (Short Story), and Bharathiyar University Award (Novel). Ramojium (A Novel), Number 40 Rettai Theru, Viswaroopam, Arasoor Vamsam, MILAGU, Era. Murugan Kadhaigal, Era Murukan Kurunovelgal, Achutham Kesavam, London Diary, Beerangi Paadalgal, Dupleix Veedhi, Visham, Nandu Maram, Moondru Viral, Mayil Mark Kudaigal, and Raja Kapilan are some of his books released in Tamil.
