'P. Soundar Rajan' popularly known among his fans by the pseudonym of Indra Soundar Rajan, was born on 13 November 1958 in Salem, Tamil Nadu. Currently, he resides in Madurai. He is a long familiarly known Tamil author of television serials, screenplays, short stories and novels.
Some of his popular television serials are Krishnadasi, Sivamayam, Marmadesam, Nagamma, and etc. He is known to be an expert on South Indian Hindu mythology and traditions. His selected works on fiction include Neelakkal Modiram, Nandi Ragasiyam, Kan Simittum Ratthinakkal, Mahadeva Ragasiyam, Ragaisyamaai Oru Ragasiyam, Pallavan Pandiyan Baskaran, etc. His screenplays include Sringaram, Anandha Purathu Veedu, etc
These stories typically deal with cases of ghosts, divine intervention, reincarnation, supernatural occurrence and are generally based on and inspired by regional true stories reported from various areas in or around Tamil Nadu.

Soundarrajan was getting treatment for cancer. On 10th November 2024, he fell in his bathroom. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
