N R Raghunanthan was born on 2 January 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu located in India. He is five feet and 11 inches tall. He is a music composer and scores music mainly for Tamil movies. His profession commenced in the year of 2010 as a music composer. He composed songs for the movie called ‘ Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’ which was directed by Seenu Ramasamy. The film was highly appreciated. The movie was nominated in various categories at 58th National Film Awards and successfully won three National Film Awards.

After working with Seenu, he got the opportunity to work with him in the latter part of the subsequent year, in the movie called Neerparavai. The movie bagged a lot of appreciation and positive reception. His second movie was released in 2012 and was named as Krishnaveni Panjaalai. The movie turned out to be one of the blockbuster movies. As one among his experiences, initially, he worked as the composer for ad-films where he was the main composer for more than 800 television commercial jingles covering various languages. After that, he shifted his career towards music composing in Indian Films. From Trinity College London he completed his Grade 8 in Music Theory and Piano. From LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore he obtained the degree in Classical music composition and film scoring under the guidance of Lindsay Vickery from Australia. After that, he went to Singapore and worked as a part time music composer for media organizations. Actor Vimal and A. Sarkunam are his close friends in the film industry. Sarkunam gave the initial opportunity to Ghibran in 2011 for composing music to his new film Vaagai Sooda Vaa, a romantic comedy film in Tamil. Movie hubs appreciated the soundtracks given by Ghibran for that movie. After the release of the movie, many movie related websites and media houses portrayed him as an upcoming star for music composition. Through this musical hit from Vaagai Sooda Vaa, he got so many chances from other directors but waited for a better opportunity. In the year 2013, He composed for some of the movies like Kutti Puli an action drama film in Tamil, Naiyaandi a comedy and romantic film in Tamil, Vatthikuchi an Urban thriller script. In 2014, he got the opportunity to compose for Amara Kaaviyam a romantic drama film in Tamil, Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah a romantic film in Tamil under the direction of Anis. He got the call from famous actor and director Kamal Haasan to compose the music for Vishwaroopam II. Ghibran impressed Kamal Haasan during this project and bagged his next few projects like Papanasam, a remake of Malayalam movie Drishyam in Tamil.
