The actor turned statesman recently called out the Tamilian administration for their double standards over the National Education Policy. Led by the ruling party DMK, the Tamilians are whining against the alleged imposition of Hindi over other regional languages. While Pawan is all for linguistic diversity, he is certainly not impressed with the hypocrisy practiced by the government of Tamil Nadu, including members of the Tamil film industry like Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Pawan Kalyan accused them of practicing double standards. According to him, while Tamil government claims to bat for regional supremacy, they want to earn profits by dubbing their own movies in Hindi, and releasing them in the very regions they spew venom against.

Pawan is not wrong either. Not many are ready to accept this, but a reason behind Kollywood’s disastrous performance in 2024 is the outright rejection by the Hindi speaking regions of India, in stark contrast to the love showered over the dubbed versions of Telugu movies, including ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and ‘Pushpa 2 : The Rule’. Even Bollywood movies like ‘Chhaava’ have got a surprisingly outstanding reception from the Telugu speaking regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as compared to the rest of India.
