The actress had gained notoriety for lashing out at the critics over the failure of the movie in a social media post that was later deleted. In a recent podcast, she defended her position, saying that have been equally bad movies, if not worse, that have been commercially successful, but they were never criticized to the levels that Kanguva was.

However, Jyothika had defended the movie, calling it a classic that doesn’t deserve as much criticism as it was subjected to. While she did point out some flaws, her defense was so confusing, as well as bizarre, that it attracted severe criticism from the public, who were already furious with the continuous streak of flops that Kollywood had been churning out one after the other last year.
