Puri Jagannadh To Collaborate With This Superstar?

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

According to the recent reports, Puri Jagannadh is in talks with an unconventional star for his next movie. If everything goes well, Puri will join forces with none other than Vijay Sethupathi for his upcoming project.

Vijay Sethupathi is busy with multiple projects, and has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dark year for Tamil cinema, which was 2024. He starred in three movies, viz. ‘Merry Christmas’ [which was to be his original debut in Hindi cinema], ‘Maharaja’ [which turned out to be a cult classic], and ‘Viduthalai Part 2’. He is now awaiting the release of ‘Ace’ and ‘Train’.

On the other hand, Puri Jagannadh is undergoing a severe crisis post the COVID pandemic. Once well known for his larger than life commercial bangers, Puri Jagannadh hasn’t seen a single success since 2019. His attempt to breakthrough the Hindi cinema royally backfired with ‘LIGER’ fizzling out at the box office. To make matters worse, his last movie ‘Double iSmart’ was a complete washout at the box office. Released on Independence Day in 2024, the movie earned barely 18 crores in comparison to a big budget of 90 crores.
