With her beautiful eyes and charismatic onscreen presence Janani Iyer is indeed a future promise of Southern film industry. Born on March 31, 1989 in Chennai, she did her schooling also in the same city. Later she pursued a Computer Science course in an Engineering Institution. During this juncture she got into modeling thinking it would be helpful with her studies. 
 
In order to earn more she performed in several advertisements in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. She has over 150 TV advertisements to her credit. She did advertisements for money but was mainly interested in acting; she even confessed her love for acting once. Janani did a couple of films, Thiru Thiru and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa while she was a busy model. The roles were small in these movies but she was noticed for her unique performance.
 
Tamil director A. L. Vijay introduced Janani to director Bala and eventually the latter called her for audition, and Janani came out in flying colors. This is how she got her offer in Avan Evan and that film proved to be box office success. Thegidi, Kazhugu and Paagan are some of the other Tamil films that Janani acted. Thegidi was well received both critically and commercially. 
 
Later she experimented with Malayalam film industry. Janani Iyer gradually entered into Malayalam films and managed to get some acting assignments during 2013. She debuted in Malayalam film industry with ‘ 3 Dots’. She shared screen space with Kunchacko Boban, Biju Menon, Prathap K Pothan and Narain in this film. The film was a big box office success. Her success in Malayalam film industry provided her with four assignments there. The nickname of Janani Iyer is Jaanu. Janani,who is a Tamilian, does not dub for her voice and that is an strength for her. Her childlike face is also an added strength.

In 2014, Janani played an important role in the critically and box-office acclaimed film, Thegidi. She then appeared in few more Malayalam films like 7th Day, Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal, Koothara, Ithu Thaanda Police, and Ma Chu Ka. She later returned in Kollywood in appeared in films like Adhe Kangal, Mupparimanam, Balloon, Vidhi Madhi Ultaa, and she’s currently filming the upcoming romantic comedy film, Thollaikatchi, alongside Ashwin Kakumanu in lead roles. Just a few days ago, Janani joined the second edition of the Bigg Boss Tamil and has become the house captain in Week 1.

Janaki Sabesh is renowned for playing mother roles to various top actors. Her main area of interest is Tamil and Telugu films. Hailing from a Palghat Iyer family, Janaki pursued her schooling in New Delhi. Later she went on to do her degree in political science, and post graduation in Mass Communication. Janaki’s father opposed her into entering the film industry and she was told to test waters in films only after being wedded. During the year 1991, at her colleged days, Janaki worked in Rajiv Gandhi’s documentary along with Simi Garewal. Then she got wedded. Later she did various roles, including working in ads on TV's, anchoring shows, associating with inspirational lectures, and dubbing. She has over 25 films to her credit. Janaki Sabesh has a charm in her, which attracts her to the audience. Janaki feels that beauty depends on your mind. She is at ease donning the role of a mother in her film career. She thinks that she is lucky to tickle the humorous bones of the audience. Janaki considers acting as a passion rather than a full-fledged job. Having imbibed knowledge about the nuances of film making, Janaki empathizes with the dedication of prominent actors. In fact, she feels that she can learn a lot from experienced actors. Janaki is best remembered for her role in Gilli and even now people call her as Gilli amma. Besides acting, Janaki is also the Regional Head of Marketing department for a company. Janaki feels that she is fortunate to have an understanding family. Dhanishka complained that her remuneration was not higher for the role in 'Ethir Neechal'. Vasanthabalan's Aravaan had really helped her a lot to attain the next level actress altogether. It was a periodic film, and her role had shades of playing a village girl of Madurai during 1910. Soon after this film, she established herself as a demanding actress who can shoulder complex roles. This film actually revamped her career graph. Her forthcoming films are ‘Kitna’, which is being directed by Samuthirakani. Another film, ‘Kaala Koothu’, will see her playing one of the two female leads which is being directed by debutant Nagarajan, Recently, audiences have seen her playing charcter of Saroja Devi in film Vizhithiru, which had Krishna Kulasekaran and Venkat Prabhu in stellar roles.
