Ashmitha Subramaniyam, nicknamed as - Ash, a rising star, is an Indian film actress working in Tamil films, active from 2013-present. She was born on November 17th. Her parents are late Dr. Subramaniyam and late Janaki Subramaniyam. Her hometown is Nellai, India but she is currently living in Chennai. She made her debut in the Tamil film-Veeram, which released on 10th January 2014 directed by Siva and produced by Bharathi 3. It was a movie with the budget of ₹40 crore. She played the role of Savarimuthu's daughter. Later she appeared in films- Ninaithathu yaaro (2014) and Atti (2016) Ashmitha did her schooling from St. Johns Matriculation Higher Secondary School, in Mandavelli, Chennai and Lourdes Girl's Higher Secondary School and then continued her studies persuading Aviation from the Pondicherry University. She also studied B. Sc Ed Computer Science from the University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai. She worked in four films in 2014, of which the first release was Ajith starrer Veeram released on 10th April 2014. She appeared in a role of the daughter of Thambi Ramaiah's character for a short duration. In an interview, Ashmitha said that she loves Ajith sir and would like to work with him again Then she appeared in a family drama Nenaithathu Yaaro which was directed by Vikraman and released on 30th January 2014. In the film Pongadi Neengalum Unga Kaadhalum directed by Ramakrishna, she played a role of a rape victim -Sameera. The movie released on 25th April 2014. She worked as a lead actress in the movies- Pazhaya Vannarapettai and Atti in 2014 itself but both of them had a long delayed release. Out of these two movies, Pazhaya Vannarapettai released before Atti. Pazahaya Vennarapettai directed by- Mohan G, and released on 2nd December 2016.It is an Indian political drama starring Prajna opposite to Ashmitha Subramaniyam. She portrayed a role of a speech therapist in the movie. On the news of releasing date on Pazahaya Vennarapettai, She expressed her happiness in front of media and declared it as the most precious and best birthday gift she can get. Atti, directed by-Vijayabhaskar is a comedy film starring Ma Ka Pa Anand opposite to Ashmitha. The film signed in 2014 and the promotions for the same started in July 2016 though it released on 9th December 2016.
