Plot
In 1979, the Tamilnadu government decided to build a pipeline along Chennai’s coastline for oil. As this endangered the Royapuram fishermen’s lives, they decided to go against the government. A gang of youngsters led by Manoharan decided to tap into the pipeline and sell the oil illegally in markets to compensate for the loss they incurred. Manoharan and his foster son Vasudevan became the leaders of their people, and they built an empire strongly. When the black-market monopoly issues started gaining attention, things didn’t go well. What happens next? The rest of the story discusses the lives of Manoharan, Vasudevan, and the fishermen community.
Star Performance
Harish Kalyan fits well in his role and delivered what was required of him. His commercial hero avatar gets a good launch pad with Diesel. Sai Kumar, Vinay, and Sachin Khedekar did their best.
Analysis
The director deserves appreciation for taking such a topic and researching it deeply. There is too much information stuffed in the second half. However, we are not bored or confused, as we receive relevant details regarding the story. While we are wondering about these, all are suddenly ignored, as a romantic track between the leads is inserted. Those scenes are not up to the mark, as they spoil the flow of the story. They were weakly executed. Finally, the director has to rush up to get back the original plot by the end of the first half. The sequences towards the climax are well-made, making Harish Kalyan put all his effort into becoming a commercial hero. As this film had a delayed release, it has favoured Harish Kalyan. ,” his heroic performances in Diesel are good to see. It is also convincing that the antagonist was not shown as a menacing one like other similar genre movies. The female leads should’ve been given proper roles to perform. They are used in a couple of scenes before the climax. The writing gets stuck between the commercial elements and the story’s original needs. The visuals, editing, and music are okay.
