Prasanna is a South Indian actor who was born on 28 August 1982. He has acted in Tamil and Telugu films. He had always dreamt of being an actor since his school days. His father worked for Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and his mother a home maker. His father wanted Prasanna to complete Engineering and look at a profession in that field. However, destiny had other plans for this talented actor and he soon got a chance to prove himself. During his second year in college, he saw an advertisement that changed his life forever. The advertisement was for an audition to play a role under Manirathnam’s Production. Prasanna applied for this audition and was shortlisted to play the lead role in the movie ‘Five Star’.

Initially his parents were not happy and were against his decision to enter movies. Prasanna even wanted to complete his Engineering so that he could fulfil his father’s dream. However, he could not do so which further upset his father more. However, Prasanna does not regret his decision as he knew that he would not be interested in an Engineering profession even if he had completed his studies. Instead he would be looking for opportunities in the movie field. He also maintains taht he will only do meaningful movies which will bring out the best in him so that the producers and directors casting him would not regret their decision.

Apart from the Tamil movies, he has also worked on a Telugu movie named ‘’ in which he got to share the screen space with . He was very excited about his Telugu debut and also nervous as there were a lot of expectations on this movie. Though he had received offers to act in other languages, he had never accepted any. However, the movie, ‘Bhai’ holds a special place in his heart as he got to play a cop in the movie and he is a big fan of Nagarjuna and he got to act with his favourite actor.

Prasanna fell in love with and the couple tied the knot in 2012.
