Born on 5th March 1977, Selvaraghavan is primarily a Tamil director. His father is director Kasthuriraja and his brother is acclaimed actor Dhanush. Selvaraghavan started his career in cinema by penning the script for his father’s directorial film
Thulluvadho Ilamai
. His romantic film Kadhal Kondein gained wide recognition. Then he did 7G Rainbow Colony, which was also of romantic genre.

in 2006, the female lead in 3 of his films. The marriage lasted for only two years and they parted ways. Later he got married to Gitanjali, who was the assistant director for one of his films. They are blessed with a daughter and son. Since Selvaraghavan is affected with a disease in the eye, he always wears glasses.
Subsequent to his graduation, in 1997 Selva Raghavan consulted some producers and asked them to accept his screenplay, but it was not fruitful. He was out of job for some time. After his family faced financial setback they decided to do

It was a milestone in the career of both Dhanush and Selvaraghavan. His next film 7G Rainbow Colony is just the story of a common man that helped in striking a chord with the masses.
Selvaraghavan admits that his strength is in penning a great screenplay.
Selvaraghavan also worked in Telugu; his film starring Venkatesh was a commercial hit. He did a great deal of research for his fantasy film Aayirathil Oruvan starring Karthi.
