Sonia Agarwal is and actress and model in Indian cinema. She has acted in many Tamil films. She has appeared in some Telugu and Malayalam films as well. Sonia has some television serials to his credits as well. A Punjabi by birth, Sonia was born in Chandigarh. She tied the knot with Tamil film director (and brother of Dhanush) Selvaraghavan in 2006, but they divorced after four years. Sonia had the offer to act in a serial (on Zee TV) during her school days. In 2002, she did her debut Telugu film titled “Nee Premakai” where she played the character Raaji. The same year she appeared in a Kannada film called “Chandu”. Sonali was seen opposite Sudeep in this flick. She had enormous praises for her role as Divya in the film “Kaadhal Kondein”, directed by Selvaraghavan, which featured Dhanush in the lead.
The film earned many accolades, and so did Sonia. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut-South and the IIFA Best New Actress Award for her incredible rendition of the character Divya. She featured in many other movies like “Dham”, “Success”, “Kovil” in the year 2003. In 2004, she portrayed the character Susheela in the film “Madhurey”. She acted alongside ace actor Vijay. “7G Rainbow Colony”, a Tamil drama film directed by Selvaraghavan, went on to become a blockbuster hit and subsequently took her to the acme of success. Agarwal was further nominated for the “Filmfare Award for the Best Tamil Actress” for her superb performance in the film. She has appeared in many other films like “Oru Kalluriyin Kathai” (2005), “Thiruttu Payale” (a 2006 movie directed by Susi Ganesan), “ Pudhu Pettai Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (directed by Selvaraghavan). Agarwal earned critical acclamations for her role in “Pudhu Pettai”. Sonali has also featured in “ Vaanam Click to look into! >> Read More... ”, a multi-starrer film, in a supporting role. In 2011 and 2012, “Sadhurangam” and “Oru Nadigayin Vakku Moolam” were released respectively. Sonali enacted the role of a doctor in 2015 release “Temper”.
