The songs went very well with A.R. Rahman in the music composing side. After Kadhalan, S Shankar’s market picked up very well and he directed Indian, a patriotic film with Kamal Haasan. Unlike other directors, Shankar never thought to rush up in committing films. He deeply discusses the story and then commits in each and every film. He screwed up the market of Prashanth through Jeans. Jeans was the second film of Aishwarya Rai in which she paired Prashanth. In Jeans, Prashanth and Nassar had dual roles and this film is also a good rhythmic film by Rahman. It was a science fiction movie and went on well for robot Rajini. S Shankar’s latest venture is I with Vikram and Amy Jackson, which hit the theatres with successful shows.

Born on 5th March 1977, Selvaraghavan is primarily a Tamil director. His father is director Kasthuriraja and his brother is acclaimed actor Dhanush. Selvaraghavan started his career in cinema by penning the script for his father’s directorial film Thulluvadho Ilamai. His romantic film Kadhal Kondein gained wide recognition. Then he did 7G Rainbow Colony, which was also of romantic genre. Pudhukkotai and Mayakkam Enna are his other films. He bravely took a new route; did two fantasy movies, namely Aayirathil Oruvan and Irandam Ulagam. On his personal front Selvaraghavan wedded Sonia Agarwal in 2006, the female lead in 3 of his films. The marriage lasted for only two years and they parted ways. Later he got married to Gitanjali, who was the assistant director for one of his films. They are blessed with a daughter and son. Since Selvaraghavan is affected with a disease in the eye, he always wears glasses. Subsequent to his graduation, in 1997 Selva Raghavan consulted some producers and asked them to accept his screenplay, but it was not fruitful. He was out of job for some time. After his family faced financial setback they decided to do Thulluvatho Ilamai, which is about adolescent issues. The film received good reviews from critics since it was different from other Tamil films. Later Kadhal Kondein happened and it emerged to be a winner. It was a milestone in the career of both Dhanush and Selvaraghavan. His next film 7G Rainbow Colony is just the story of a common man that helped in striking a chord with the masses. Selvaraghavan admits that his strength is in penning a great screenplay. Selvaraghavan also worked in Telugu; his film starring Venkatesh was a commercial hit. He did a great deal of research for his fantasy film Aayirathil Oruvan starring Karthi.
