Baiju Dharmajan

Baiju Dharmajan is an Indian producer, guitarist, music composer, and guitar tutor. He was born to Thankamani and Dharmajan in Vypin Islands, Cochin, India. His father played Hawaiian guitar, and his grandfather was a musician in Carnatic. They used to play Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam film music, and ghazals of Pankaj Udhas, Mehdi Hassan, and Anup Jalota at their home. It inspired him, and he started to develop an acute interest in vocal sound from a very tender age. In fact, at the tender age of five, he began to perform as a guitarist with Yesudas. But his professional career emerged at the age of twenty. He flag-shipped his career with the Carnatic violin but then veered towards playing guitar. In 1990's he became the part of groups like Instinct, Aatma, and Wrenz. It was during his stint with them when he had a chance encounter with John, a member of Motherjane. He needed a lead guitarist and invited to audition for it. They selected him, and he continued to play with them for almost ten years. During this time, they released albums named Insane Biography and Maktub in the year 2003 and 2008 respectively. All their concerts during this period were sold out. In 2010, he separated from Motherjane and decided to focus on solo projects. Under Cochym, a record label, he released The Crossover. He helped Kaav, another band based in Kochi, to produce an EP. He sang the patriotic songs Vande Mataram, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, and Jana Gana Mana in a rock style. He also collaborated with Karsh Kale, a percussionist and a music composer, and Harigovindan, a drum teacher and created a song named Sacred Science for The Dewarists, a TV series. Digitech pedals, Laney Amplification, Gibson Guitars, and Blade Guitars have been his endorsers. He also conducted a workshop in Kolkata with Andy James, an English shred-king. In 2014, Songdew published his solo Moham. He has won the Jack Daniel's Rock Awards thrice for his compositions. By his admission, he admires the work of Illayaraja, R.D. Burman, Raveendran, Naushad, and Devarajan. His favorite artists are Guthrie Govan, Jimi Hendrix, Mattias Eklund, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Brian May, Reb Beach, and Steve Vai. Since there are very few successful music bands in India, Baiju enjoys an enormous fan-following among the Indians. In fact, his fans call him God of Strings.

Sumesh Parameswar

Sumesh Parameswar is an upcoming music composer who predominantly works for Malayalam cinema.  He made his debut as a music composer through a film Kismath which released in July 2016. He is a renowned guitarist. But in his first movie 'Kismath' (Malayalam), he got chances to compose music for five songs, and they were sung by K.S.Harishankar & Shreya Raghav, Madhushree, Kabeer Nalialam, and Anwar Ali. He even composed a theme song for the movie which had a voice of Shrey Raghav. The film starred Shane Nigam and Shruthy Menongilm, and it was a romantic drama set in the backdrop of two lovers from two different religious backgrounds. According to the critics, the music in the movie was really soulful and melodious. The songs were just superb and pleasing to the ears too. The teaser and the songs made the movie anticipated in Kerala. Viewers can still hum the songs that Sumesh Parameswar has penned for songs titles ‘Nilamanaltharikalil’, ‘Aane Madanapoo’, ‘Vinnu Churanna    Neesa M.P’ and ‘Loneliness’ which had even brilliant lyrics which exactly apt in the movie. Sumesh Parameshwar was supported by another music composer Shamej Sreedhar in the movie Kismath. In the same year, he provided music for Asif Ali’s movie ‘Ithu Thaanda Police’. In this movie, he penned some soulful music for four songs only that include Vayya Vayya, Naadu Kaakkum, Othe Othe and these numbers was sung by Arun, Resmi Sateesh, Haritha Balakrishnan and Anna Katharina. Suresh made even Vijay Yesudas sing a song in this film. The songs in this move reinforced the interest and curiosity element of the film.
