Kanam Rajendran

Kanam Rajendran is a politician from India. He is affiliated with the Communist Party. On 10^th November 1950, he was born. He was born in India, in the town of Kanam. From 1982 until 1991, he served in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He worked as a member of the Vazhoor constituency. In March 2015, he was named Secretary of the Kerala State Council of the Communist Party of India. During his first assembly victory, he defeated M.K Joseph of KEC by 2243 votes.

Kanam held positions like Secretary (CPI) Kerala State Committee, Secretary (All India Youth Federation), and Vice President (AIYF National Council).” He was also the member of CPI State Secretariat, 7th Kerala Legislative Assembly (1982–87), and 8th Kerala Legislative Assembly (1987–91).”

He was the head of the Legislative Assurance Committee and a member of the Public Accounts Committee. Rajendran focused on building a secular and democratic platform to counter Sanghparivar movements.

The conference chose 96 members to the new state council. In the control commission, later, six more members were added.
