Jassie Gift is a music composer and singer who hails from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He predominantly works for Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil movies and is currently, based in Bengaluru.

Born in a Christian family in Trivandrum, the singer had a passion for music since the beginning. He played the western piano and started playing the keyboard for local bands at a young age.  He was influenced a lot by western music.

Later, he evolved as a singer and keyboard player for a local group Moby Dick. His favorite music composers are Freddie Mercury and Ilaiyaraaja. Although he was a gifted singer and keyboard player, he came to learn more about music from music director Jayaraj.

Even before entering the film industry, he composed for an album in Malayalam called ‘Soona Soona’; which became a mega-hit upon its release. He also composed many jingles. His fusion of western music with Indian raga was instrumental in giving a new dimension to the music in the Malayalam film industry. Thus, his medley of western and eastern music became a new genre of Malayalam film dance music, and people liked it too.

Jassie also had a remarkable, unique vocal style that held him in high regards in the Malayalam film industry. He is very popular for his song “Lajjavathiye” which was from the movie '4 the People’ (2004) which became an instant hit with masses. This song "Lajjavathiye"; was sung by Jassie in two versions. One was western version.

Another duet song he had sung with Jyotsna and this song was a peppy one and called “Ninte Mizhimuna.” However, his first break was for a Malayalam movie ‘Saphlam.’ The movie '4 the people' was made later in Telugu and Tamil too, and the songs were well acclaimed in all languages.

In the year 2011, he composed music for a Kannada movie 'Sanju Weds Geetha' directed by actor-director Nagashekar. Jassie Gift's music and Kaviraj's lyrics for the movie were appreciated and are considered one of the top hits. He won the Filmfare award and Suvarna Film Award for the best music director during those years.

For the Malayalam movie 'Chinatown,’ Jessie reused the soundtrack "Gaganave Baagi" sung by Shreya Ghoshal for the Kannada film Sanju Weds Geetha. For the song "Arike Ninnalum" sung by M. G. Sreekumar, K. S. Chithra for China Town.

In the year 2013, he composed music for a Kannada movie ' Mynaa' which was directed by Nagashekar. The movie had brilliant narration, storyline, screenplay, and songs. It was a cult classic film which was liked by critics and audiences as well.

The film set new standards in the industry, and Jassie Gift composed all the songs and lyrics shared by Kaviraj, Geethapriya, and G.S. Shivarudrappa. The songs were sung by Son Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Nithya Menen, C.Aswath and Santhosh. He won the Mirchi Music Award and ETV Sangeet Samman Award for a best music director for the movie 'Mynaa.'

In 2017, he composed music for movies 'Jani'(Kannada), Solli Vidava / Prema Baraha (Tamil & Kannada), 'Chicken Kokkachi' (Malayalam), and ' Hai' (Kannada). His other notable soundtracks are from the movies ‘Dum' (Malayalam), 'Rebel' (Kannada), 'Male' (Kannada), etc.

Jessie Gift also has a unique association with other notable music composers of the south Indian film industry, and they include Harris Jayaraj, Devisri Prasad, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and M M Keeravani, Anirudh Ravichander, hip-hop Tamizha. He has collaborated with almost all music directors from south India.

Shamir is a well renowned and a successful music director in Bollywood. Being a very passionate entrepreneur, he’s the only management graduate to incorporate himself into an entirely different field of Music. During his early years, being a lad, he was always singing in music festivals held in school & college and he composed his some songs too as a part of interest besides his studies. His family had no relations with music while him being the first musician. He took up his career in, management & accountancy and then moved forward into merchant banking. Then he decided to take his passion for music and started with a full-fledged career in it. In 1998, Shamir started by working along with the multinational Virgin EMI Records. He came up working with a lot of great legends namely – “Lata Mangeshkar”, “Asha Bhosle”, “Jagjit Singh”, “Bhupinder Singh”, “Manna Dey”, “Rahat Fatah Ali Khan” & much more. He has done many advertisements with brands such as ICICI, Pepsi, Idea, etc. In 2005, he took his first break with the National Award Winning Film ‘Page 3’. After the success of ‘Page 3’, he gave music for ‘Corporate & Traffic signal’ which were directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. His songs Kitne Ajeeb Rishte Hain Yahan Par and Huzoor e Ala were much loved by Asha Bhosle & Lata Mangeshkar who lent their voices for the compositions. He composed one of the top albums of 2006-07 along i.e., Asha & Friends, where he got Ashaji to sing with Sanjay Dutt, Urmila Matondkar, Australian pace bowler Brett Lee and the winner of the Zee Saregamapa L’il Champs. During 2007, he got along with 11 leading singers to compose the anthem for the Cricket World Cup. He also released a song against antipiracy. He did projects on many brands, contacted Maui for two years & recorded with Pyarelal. Shamir also worked with many other big names in the industry such as Balaji Telefilms, UTV motions, Disney, Sahara, Viacom 18, Sangeet Sivan etc. His biggest achievement has been the music consultancy for Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s latest album ‘Back to Love’. The lead song of this album crossed more than 100+ million views & competing with a lot of leading Bollywood tracks. The album won Rahat Sahab Mirchi and GIMA Awards. He had also collaborated with international stars such as Enrique Iglesias in 2012-13, for the song Heart Attack which included Enrique & Sunidhi Chauhan. He also worked with many international artists namely Boyband Blue for the song ‘ONE LOVE’ which had featured the Indian stars - Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu. In the movie Kya Kool Hain Hum, he had worked along with the British singer Jay Sean. In 2016, he introduced the first transgender band of India - The 6 Pack band. He organized the 6 Pack Band with Y-Films. It won the ‘Cannes Grand Prix Glass Lion’ at the Cannes Lions Festival. Sonu Nigam also launched the band in Mumbai & gave his voice to one of the songs of the band. The first single by the band was ‘Happy Hain Hum’ and the second one ‘Sab Rab De Bande’.

Mejo Joseph

Mejo Joseph is a composer and actor, born on 28th of January 1981 at Thrissur. His parents are named Joseph & Mary. He has done his schooling from Don Bosco High School, Irinjalakuda. He is a music director working in the Malayalam Film Industry. He got married to Merrin on 26 June 2011 & has a son named Abdeil. The famous and renowned Director Rosshan Andrrews is his brother in law. In 2006, he made his debut featuring his Malayalam film, ‘Notebook’ which was directed by his brother in law, Rosshan Andrews. The notebook turned out to be a major hit with its exceptional music and the movie's soundtrack, Hridayavum became the chart topper of the year. He also appeared as a cameo role in the film, but he could not hold on to his momentum for future opportunities. Later on, he gained attention through his music skills in the film. He made a cameo appearance in ‘Firoz’ as a music enthusiast. Mejo came back after waiting for a year, in the new film 'Cycle' which had singer Vineeth Sreenivasan playing the lead role. He collaborated with Johny Antony for the super hit movie 'Cycle'. The songs and lyrics of the film were written by Anil Panachooran who shot to fame with the latest Lal Jose film 'Arabikkatha'. The music of 'Cycle' also hit the cinemas and brought high success for Mejo. During 2010, he worked along with Roy for his movie 'Kanmazha Peyyum Munpe'. In 2011, he worked along with Rajesh Pillai for his movie 'Traffic'. In 2012 he worked consecutively for three movies namely -'Chapters', 'Entry' and 'Teluggabai'. These were Telugu films by the respective directors Sunil Ibrahim, Rajesh Amanakar and OS Avinash. In 2013, he contributed towards 'Chennaiyil Oru Naal' directed by Shaheed Kader. And in 2014 he worked on three films in a row namely - 'Hangover', 'Konthayum Poonoolum' and 'Law Point' which were directed by Sreejith Sukumar, Jijo Antony, Lijin Joseph.
