Jyothirmayi, the prominent Malayalam actor is known to be one of the few artists who has ruled the world of the TV first and then, with her popularity and talent went on to become one of the top notch actors of the Mollywood industry. After rising to fame as an actor, she’s worked in nearly 30 Malayalam films.

Starting off her career as a model, Jyothirmayi bagged a chance to anchor a local cable channel while she was still very young. She took it up, not expecting the superstardom that lay ahead of her. For some time, she ruled the world of TV anchoring some local programmes and acting in some popular TV serials like the “ Indraneelam”, a popular daily serial that was aired on Surya TV.

Jyothirmayi’s fate turned around when she was featured in the film “Pilots” in a supporting role and later in the much acclaimed “Bhavam”. She was also known for her item number in the Dileep-starrer, “ Meesa Madhavan”. Her career graph only went up since then and she starred in some very special roles in nearly thirty Malayalam films post that.

Despite being around for more than a decade and winning hearts with roles in films like Pattalam (the Mammootty starrer) and Idhaya Thirudan (by director Saran), Jyothirmayi still continues to rule the world of the Malayalam cinema and has two films starring her, releasing this year.
