Rahul Raj is one of the most well known music composers in all of the South Indian film industry. He has given music to many movies in his career ranging from various languages such as Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu movies. He was born on March 17th in the city of Cochin in Kerala. He was born to N. S. Kunjoonjamma and E. Thankappan, an advocate. He completed his higher secondary education from Bhavans Vidya Mandir located in Elamakkara in Cochin.
After that he obtained a degree in IT engineering from Cochin University. He has been trained in the Mridangam instrument and in Carnatic music when he was just six. He moved to London after a short period in Bangalore. During his stay in London, he decided to undergo a course in Electronic Sound Production.
Rahul’s entry into the field of music production kick-started after he helped producing a remix of a famous devotional Ayappa song. The song which was originally composed by Pradeep Menon in the year 1985, was remixed and produced under the album name Sabari Beats and was released in India, UK and Canada. The album which was released in 2002 featured singers such as

He returned to India and became the most in-demand music composer for over a hundred commercials. He has worked in different languages and has also composed music for major television channels such as Amrita TV and Asianet TV. He made his feature film debut in Anwar Rasheed’s ‘Chotta Mumbai’ with singer Shankar Mahadevan.
Since then he has worked in a number of films like, ‘
