Thudarum Enters The 100 Crore Club?

Mohanlal finally has the last laugh after all.

According to the recent reports, his latest release, Thudarum, is well on course to enter the 100 crore club, the second consecutive movie to do so after L2 : Empuraan. Thudarum has collected approximately 100 crores worldwide. Initially there were reports that the movie was made on a budget  of around 90 crores. However, it turns out that the movie is actually made on a budget of less than 40 crores, which includes 28 crores of production costs.

Thudarum has collected nearly 52 crores and counting as of now. If the reports about the actual budget are correct, this is more than impressive, and the much needed start for Mohanlal, who was struggling to find his footing after struggling with a rough patch in terms of box office revenue. Though L2 : Empuraan earned more than 260 crores worldwide, it was far from the blockbuster success its makers claimed, with the net domestic collections being way less than the budget of 180 crores.
