He is a cousin of Gary Vitti, who is a trainer at the Los Angeles Lakers, Jim Vitti, who is an Award-Winning Author, and Michael Dante, who is better known by his stage name Ralph Vitti. He graduated from The Harvard University. During his graduation, he used to write and even served as a President along with “Mike Reiss”, who is from Harvard Lampoon. During his college time, he was very close to “Conan O'Brien”. Jon is one of the most prominent writers for The Simpsons series. He ranks in the third position after ‘John Swartzwelder’, who gave 59 episodes and ‘Tim Long’, who gave 26 and Jon gave 25 episodes. His famous character of Penny Wise was used by him in the episodes of Another Simpsons Clip Show and the 138th episode of The Simpsons named Episode Spectacular. In the four seasons of Simpsons in the episode, The Front Jon is even caricatured as a graduate from Harvard as a character who gets fired from I&S Studios and is penning for mediocre episodes and gets a hit on his head by his boss Roger Meyers with a name plate.

Jon got married to Ann. Ann is the sister of ‘George Meyer’, who is one of the co-writers of Simpsons. Jon was nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series for the series “Everybody Loves Larry” and “Hank's Sex Tape” at the Primetime Emmy Awards. He has even served as a Co-executive producer from 30th episode till 89th episode. His other work includes The Office, King of the Hill, The Larry Sanders Show, and The Critic.
