Helen Macdonald was born in the year 1970. She has been an international English writer, naturalist, and a research scholar. Helen was born and brought up in a town on A30 from the Victorian days, Chertsey, Camberley, Surrey, England, which has been made up of golf courses, elderly army forces, conservative tea dances, and pine forests all around.

Helen’s whole family shifted to Tekels Park in Camberley, Surrey as they bought a new white villa, which is in 20 hectares of land with houses build-in in the year 1975. Helen was the only daughter of her father (Alisdair Macdonald) and mother; both were working as journalists. The house they has bought was owned by the theosophical society, an organization created by the United States in 1875.

He started writing at a very young age. She did her graduation course at Cambridge University. From the year 2004 to 2007, Helen has been a research lover at Jesus College, Cambridge. Helen has now achieved to be a research scholar at the University of Cambridge, under the Department of History and Philosophy of Science.

Helen started her writing career in 1993, where she wrote the poem “Simple Objects” in Cambridge. Then in the year 2001, she wrote a book namely Shaler’s Fish in St. Leonards on Sea and published by Etruscan books, with an ISBN - 978-1901538335. After five years, Helen wrote her next book named “Falcon” in London and has been published by Reaktion Books Ltd, having an ISBN as 978-1861892386.

Later after having a long break of almost eight years (2014), she wrote her book “H is for Hawk” in London, published by Jonathan Cape with ISBN - 978-0224097000. Starting right from this book, Helen got her name and fame as well.

This best-seller had helped her so much that she has been honored by two prizes, namely "Samuel Johnson" prize and "Costa book of the year". In the year 2016, Falcon’s new edition launched in London through the same publisher Reaktion Books Ltd.

She has also joined hands in helping away Sarah Wood, filmmaker of “10X Murmuration”. Helen also appeared in the “Birds Britannia,” a documentary series on BBC Four in the year 2010. Helen also worked for screen scripts and also wrote for radio programs as well. She even narrated some of the radio programs. The same book “H is for Hawks," Helen got another award named “Prix du Meilleur Livre Étranger” award in France.
