Gary Shteyngart

Born on July 5, 1972, in Leningrad, USSR, Gary Shteyngart is an American author.He spent his initial seven years of adolescents living in a square overwhelmed by an enormous statue of Vladimir Lenin, which is currently St. Petersburg in Russia. On the other hand, calls it "St. Leninsburg" or "St. Leningrad."

He originates from a Jewish family and depicts his family as typical Soviet. Gary’s mother was an instrument player and dad worked as an architect in a LOMO camera factory. Shteyngart shifted to the United States and raised with no TV in the flat in which he lived, where English was not the family dialect in 1979. He didn't leave his Russian articulation until he was 14 years old.Shteyngart traveled to Prague in the Czech Republic.

Shteyngart hitched to Esther Won, who is of Korean origin.

He has a son Johnny Won Shteyngart. Shteyngart now hails from Gramercy region of Manhattan. He was a writing teacher at Hunter College, and as of now works at Columbia University. In 2007, he had an internship for fall at the American Academy Berlin in Germany. Shteyngart's work has gotten various honors.

The Russian Debutante's Handbook earned the National Jewish Book Award, Stephen Crane Award and the Book-of-the-Month Club Award for First Fiction.
