Glenn Ficarra had perceived his education in film from Pratt Institute, a non-profit institution, situated at Clinton Hill, near Brooklyn, New York, United States; there he encountered John Requa, a screenwriter who works in association with Glenn. Post College, the team of two, worked for the Nickelodeon channel, they managed the department of animation for it.

The two later took up as writers and worked in a joint partnership. Together, they wrote the script of the comedy film titled, Cats and Dogs. Cats and Dogs was also produced by Glenn and was released in 2001. They also contributed as screenwriters in a Terry Zwigoff film, Bad Santa. The duo featured as writers in a film titled Bad News Bears, too, which was directed by Richard Linklater.

The duo had even scripted for the film I Love You Philip Morris, and they decided to execute their writing in the form of their direction as well, so they directed the film in 2009, which had been their debut as directors. The story line of I Love You Philip Morris was based on the life of Steven Russell, a con man.

Glenn’s next direction was once again in Requa’s company, and they together directed the film titled Crazy, Stupid, Love. The film had a star cast composed of Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and Julianne Moore. The film got unveiled in July 2011.After subsequent successes, Glenn soon became confident with his work. After that, Glenn co-founded his production company named Zaftig Films, in association with his partners John Requa and Charlie Gogolak.

Glenn’s next direction with Requa had been Focus with Will Smith, and Margot Robbie as the lead. The script of Focus was also written by the duo, which was released in 2015. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, unveiled in 2016, was also directed by Glenn, the film was starred by Tina Fey and Robbie.

Glenn also brought a television show which was exclusively  produced by his production house had been screened between 2013 and 2014, and was called Back in the Game. Another television program which was written by Glenn had been on air between 1998 and 2000, titled The Angry Beavers.

Glenn has been excellent in his profession, he has achieved the most, as a scriptwriter and a producer, he owns a production house of his own. Besides, he has also directed several movies, which has proved out to be a great success, and had also worked as an actor.

In the year 2010, he again worked as a screenwriter and producer of the film named ‘fƒPiranha 3D’ for which he again participated as a co-writer along with Alexandre Aja. He also worked for the film named Maniac in the same year as a screenwriter and a producer. Piranha 3D is a 3D horror comedy film of America of the year 2010, which was known to be a remake of the horror movie of the year 1978. Maniac was a French-American slasher movie based on psychology under the direction of Franck Khalfoun. He also worked as a screenwriter for the film named Cobra: The Space Pirate, which is yet to be released. The film was made in the year 2012. In the year 2014, he worked as the director of the film named The Pyramid.
