Elissa was working as an assistant for the movie “Wall E” at the heralded animation studio Pixar. Pixar often casts their own employees to voice their beloved characters. This is how she came to everybody’s attention and because of this she bagged her first film “Cars” in 2006, which was a racing-themed comedy where she played the role of Tia, one of the Mazda Miata sisters. She worked in many films from 2006-2016, but it was the movie “Wall E” which introduced her to unexpected spotlight and attention worldwide.

The director of the movie, Andrew Stanton, was struggling to find a suitable person for the vocals for Wall E’s robotic heroes and at that moment she was working at Pixar as an assistant producer and she often used to do ‘scratch voices’. This meant that she voiced over for characters temporarily and they were finally recorded over by the main actors. She did the same for Wall-E too. But Andrew Stanton liked her performance so much that he kept it for the final cut as well.

Mr. Andrew Stanton electronically manipulated knight vocals to create the unique timber of voice to suite EVE’s character. This film earned her not only a long list of fans but also many awards including the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year. She happily returned to her job at Pixar. In one of her interviews she revealed that she had not gone through Wall-E’s script prior to recording and had recorded her performance with very little preparation. It was her determination and hard work which lead the character of EVE to huge success.
