Jennifer Mary Elfman is an American TV and movies actress, activist and dancer. She is known for her role in Dharma & Greg (television series). She was born on 30 September 1971 in Los Angeles, California. Her birth name is Jennifer Mary Butala. She was born to Sue and Richard Butala. Her father was a Hughes Aircraft executive and mother homemaker. She was youngest of three children. Her uncle, Tony Butala was the lead singer in The Lettermen (American Vocal Trio). She grew up a Roman Catholic. At age five, she began her classical ballet lessons.

At age nine, she suffered a leg injury, and by age twelve she left dancing and started focusing on acting. She did her schooling from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. She did her graduation from California State University, Northridge. She started her career as a dancer. She did music videos for Depeche Mode, Chris Isaak, and Anthrax. She did the 1994 tour with the band ZZ Top as “Legs Girl.” She did some short commercials. Her first successful TV series was King of Queens. She also appeared in Two and a Half Men. She starred in Dharma & Greg which ran for five seasons. In 2005, she appeared at Citizens Commission on Human Right’ “Psychiatry: An Industry of Death museum opening. She is a member of Church of Scientology. Jenna and her husband are the board members of entertainment, media and art community of the organisation on its website.

In 2006, she was the keynotes speaker at the event named Human rights Hero Award in association with Scientology-backed groups called Youth for Human Rights International and Artists for Human rights. The same year, she auctioned an hour of her time on e-bay to raise funds for school communities. She did the same in the year 2007 and 2008. She is a criminal rehabilitation activist. In 2007, she received “Goodwill Ambassador Award” at Women Ambassadors Foundation 12th Annual Conference for her contribution in the field of criminal rehabilitation and human rights. In the same year, she asked for the donation in place of birthday gifts to raise funds to build wells in Ethiopia. In 2010, she donated her time for the Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief telethon held in Los Angeles, California. In 2011, she read to school children as a participant of National Education Association. It was in honour of DrSuess’s birthday.

In 2012, Jenna and her husband did a post cast named “Kicking and Screaming by Jenna and Bodhi Elfman.” She walked the ramp in a “The Heart Truth” Red Dress on Fashion Show held in New York to spread awareness about heart diseases. She hosted comedy show named "Laugh for Sight's" to raise funds for Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2013, she did two TV series, one season long, titled Growing up Fisher and 1600 Penn.
