Known as the King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s full name was Michael Joseph Jackson. He was born on 29th of August 1958 and was a gifted singer and dancer. He also wrote many of his songs and was a record producer as well. His remarkable contributions to dance and music industry gave him an iconic and global image, for more than over four decades. He debuted in 1964 with four of his elder brothers from the album Jackson 5. Then in 1971, he began to work as a solo artist and from there his career took the high flight. In early 80’s his album, Thriller got so much appreciation from public critics, that his music videos for songs Billie Jean, Beat It and Thriller broke the charts of U.S. Billboards in 1982 and remained on top for many years. His every album got great recognition from public, right from Off The Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and History (1995). His dancing techniques were loved a lot by everyone. His Robot dance and Moonwalk were the first of their kind.

His best-selling album Thriller got sold in record 65 million copies, all around the globe. In 1987, his album BAD was the first ever album to have its five songs in top 100 of U.S. Billboard. He was included in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. All through his career, he had multiple Guinness World Records, The Grammy Legend Award, 13 Grammy’s for his songs, The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, 13 number one solo’s in the US, 26 American Music Awards, much more than any single solo artist ever. He had sold over 400 million records worldwide, and that is a record too. Michael also built his own Disneyland, named as Neverland. He loved children very much, and he used to say that what he couldn’t get in his childhood, every child should be able to get that. He was a father to two sons and a daughter from his two marriages. His first wife was Lisa Marie Presley, who he married in 1994 and divorced in 1996.

His second wife was Debbie Rowe, who he married in 1996 and divorced in 1999. He used to donate a lot of money to the needy and NGO organisations. He gave over 1 Billion dollars for good causes, throughout his life. The Music industry wasn’t the only field which gave him recognition. He was related to many controversies in his life. From changing his looks, plastic surgeries, his colour of skin to child sexual abuse. In mid-90’s, he was accused of child sexual abuse. Although there were no formal charges, this issue was settled outside the civil court. Then in 2005, he was again accused of the same and charges were pressed against him. He was not found guilty this time on all accusations. In 2009, while making a comeback through his comeback concert series “This is it”, he was suddenly found dead due to the intoxication of medicinal drugs. The date was 25th of June 2009 and Michael Jackson was no more. It triggered a worldwide outpouring of grief. After some years of his death, in 2014, an album Xscape was released, which contained many of Michael’s unreleased songs. And it was a hit as well. Sold over a million copies in U.S. alone. Michael Jackson was called a Legend of the music industry, the King Of Pop. He will always be missed all around the globe.

Jay Sean, born as Kamaljeet Singh Jhooti to Punjabi-Sikh parents in England, is a British singer, rapper and sound producer. Jay is the first British-Indian crossover stars. He gained international popularity with five consecutive hits featuring Top forty singles in America. His American debut “Down” topped the Billboard Top 100, making him the first artist of South Asian origin to achieve this feat. Jay Sean started off as early as age 11, when he, along with his cousin Pritpal Rupra, formed a hip-hop duo by the name of “Compulsive Disorder”. At that time, he chose his stage name to be “MC Nicky J”. The ‘J’ was taken from his last name “Jhooti”. Many friends also called him by the name “Jay.” The name ‘Jay Sean’ came from two words- the “Jay” from his earlier stage name, and “Sean” from “Shaan”, which was his nickname at home. He joined the group ‘Rishi Rich Project’(comprising of Rishi Rich, Jay Sean, and Juggy D) in 2003 after Rishi heard Sean’s single “One Minute.” Their song "Dance with You" was a big hit, and even featured on the Top 20 Hits, peaking at number 12. Soon after, Virgin Records offered Sean a contract for £1 mill. Sean quit Dentistry and Queen Mary's School where he was supposed to be a doctor and signed the contract. He released his first album ‘Me Against Myself’ in 2004, which instantly became a big hit, gaining a position on the UK Top 30 Hits. Also Two singles- “Eyes on You” and “Stolen” found their place on the UK Top Ten. In 2006, Jay Sean left Virgin Records. He released many singles in 2007 and 2008. In 2008 itself, he joined cash Records. He released his single “Down”, which topped the Billboard Top 100. He released two albums with the recording house, titled “My Way” and “All or Nothing”. He also earned three awards at UK Asian Music Awards, including "Best Male", "Best Urban Act" and "Best Album”. Sean has also collaborated with artists like Kevin Rudolf, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, among others. Jay Sean was also seen in the 2005 Bollywood film “Kya Kool Hain Hum,” where he did a cameo playing himself.


Nicholas Brown

Nicholas Brown is an Australian writer, lyricist, singer and actor. He was born on 1st January 1980 in Sidney, Australia. His parents are father, Roy Brown and mother, Patricia Brown. He has an older sister, Tracey. In the educational years 11 and 12, he went to Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. He did numerous plays during those years; he was the captain of school in the year 1997. In 1998, he got selected in National Institute of Dramatic Art and became one of the youngest students and the first student to be selected from high school. In 2010, he was nominated as Cleo Bachelor of the Year. Nicholas made his debut as an actor in Bollywood film ‘Kites’, starring Hrithik Roshan. After which he did a Hollywood film ‘The Remix. He then went on to do films like ‘Random 8’, ‘Love you to Death’, ‘The Characters’ and a few more. Nicholas acted in many TV serials, few among them are ‘Home and Away’ (2007), ‘White Collar Blue’ (2003), ‘Life Support’ (2001) and ‘Packed to the Rafters’ (2012). He also did various plays and short films. In 2010, he did three plays at the Australian National Play Festival held in Brisbane. Some of the plays to his credit are ‘There is No Need to Wake Up’, ‘Berlin to Broadway’, ‘Frozen’, ‘Spunks’ and many more. Nicholas has written two plays namely ‘Rain Supreme’ and ‘The Glass Soul’; he also has written the screenplay of the Australian film ‘Lighten Up’. Nicholas’s musical career has also been a joyride for him. In 2005, he was singer and songwriter of the group ‘The Modernists’ and they did an album named ‘Big Score’. In 2006, to raise the funds for Tsunami victims, he was invited to sing at ‘Raise the Roof’; which was held at Sydney’s State Theatre. In the band, ‘Knuckle Band’, he was the lead singers for the years 2011-12. Nicholas has been the host of SBS Radio’s Pop Desi; the Australian radio.
