Louis Tomlinson

Louis William Tomlinson was born on December 24, 1991, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. His birth name is Louis Troy Austin. He belongs to the famous musical band 'One Direction', where he performs like a pop singer. He also presented himself as a songwriter and an actor. Tomlinson’s parents Johannah Poulston and Troy Austin, suffered a divorce, when Louis was at a very young age. After the divorce, Johannah got married to Mark Tomlinson. As a result, Louis, who was staying with his mother adopted his stepfather’s name and called himself, Louis Tomlinson.

After getting schooled at The Hayfield School, Tomlinson got admitted at Hall Cross School, for his final two years of secondary education. Tomlinson had some hospitality jobs queued for him, which includes, the one at Vue Cinema and also at a football stadium, Doncaster Rovers. As a part of the Hall Cross School, Tomlinson along with his friends represented his school in quite a number of musical productions. He did not pay much attention to his academics and concentrated more on such musical productions. One such musical production named Grease also persuaded him to take the auditions for 'The X-factor', which brought out the origin of the boy band, One Direction.

Along with his siblings, Tomlinson participated in Fat Friends playing the extra roles, which somehow motivated him to take up acting classes and so he got enrolled at a drama school in Barnsley. In 2009, inspired by the sessions spent on Hall Cross’ musical productions, Tomlinson landed on the audition platform of the X-Factor. In spite of receiving a rejection at his first auditions, Tomlinson did not leave hope and return for the X-Factor’s audition, in 2010. Again he did not clear the judges’ round, but a guest judge, Nicole Scherzinger teamed him up with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles. Eventually, this band of boys rose up and was known all over as One Direction. After meeting the boys, Tomlinson became eligible to take up the auditions as a group. For the judges’ round, the team came up with the phonic form of “Torn”. The crowd, as well as the judges, were mesmerised with the band’s first performance and soon it gained popularity all across the UK. Unfortunately, the band couldn’t achieve the first position, but they stood third and their song “Forever Young” got leaked which was supposed to get released after their final victory. Besides occupying the third position, they also got signed to Cowell’s record contract, Syco Records.

In 2011, One Direction released a couple of albums, “Up All Night” and “Take Me Home”, which was a debut album for the team outside the competition. The two albums gained a lot of popularity and positive reviews, it set new records and topped the market list along with that of the audience. According to the management team of the band, it has been reported that they have succeeded in selling over 35 million records, across the world. Also, at a very primary stage, they received two Britt Awards, a couple of American Music Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards. Billboard listed the One Direction Band as the “Top New Artist”, in the year 2012. The One Direction crew made a guest appearance in an iCarly’s episode, in 2012. In a very short span of time, they gained recognition and fame and occupied spaces in the hearts of millions of fans. Tomlinson worships Robbie Williams as his idol and is also a great admirer of the British recording artist Ed Sheeran.

In 2016, the team decided a leave for all the members so that every member can pursue their individual projects, during this Tomlinson, who appeared as a celebrity judge on the X-Factor of 2015, along with Cowell, offered himself for being a constant judge of the show. He also has intentions to pursue with his writing of songs, in the company of his bandmate Liam.

Being a football fan, Tomlinson agreed to the offer laid for him to become a development player and participate in the reserve games of the football club Doncaster Rovers. On September 3, 2013, he made his debut playing in the favour of the Doncaster’s reserve team in the Central League. Tomlinson intends to donate the collected money to the charity.

Tomlinson had a four-year long relationship with a student named Eleanor Calder, but the relationship suffered a break up in March 2015. Tomlinson fathered a son along with an American stylist, Briana Jungwirth. His son named Freddie Reign was born on January 21, 2016.
