Sly Stone

Sly Stone is famous for songwriting, record producing, and is a famous musician. Sly was born on 15th March 1943 in Texas, Denton. Sly holds a crucial role in the development of funk, soul, and rock in the 1970’s, Sly has joined the group of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the year 1993 which was actually invented in the year 1983. The Sly’s birth name is Sylvester Stewart; Stewart is the second child in his family. Initially, they lived in Denton, but later they moved to Vallejo. Sly along with his brother Freddie and two sisters Rose and Vaetta performed one show in Church of God. His siblings are very well interested in music stream except for his elder sister Loretta. All others are into the music field and adopt their surname as Stone.

Sly’s music career started at the age of seven; he is skilled on the instruments since the age of eleven especially on the drums, bass, and guitar. At the time of his primary education, he completely switched as a guitarist and joined in Doo-Wop group which consists of even non-white numbers. While being in that group, Sly has recorded some solo songs with the help of their brothers and released it under the name of Danny Stewart. Sly is popularly known by the nickname Sylvester in all his school grades and college. He worked as a disc jockey in San Francisco during the mid-1960’s and even worked as a member in Autumn Records which is the most number of bands producing firm in San Francisco. Sly had accomplished “The Stoners” show in 1966; he adopted Sly Stone name after that and now it is the prominent name all over the world.

To talk about his personal life, in 1974 he was engaged with a model Kathy Silva, but they separated in 1976 due to some issues. About their children, in 1973 they had one son, but later Sly married another woman named Cynthia Robinson, and this couple has two children. One son had been born in the year 1976, and another baby was born during 1982 having the name as Novena. She is a singer and the member of a hip-hop group. Recently he had given one show with his daughter Novena in the presence of George Clinton.

In 2009 September Sly had given a short stage show along with George Clinton’s band in Chicago at African Festival of Arts. In the same year he signed the contract with Cleopatra Records. In 2011 he released few albums which are recomposed and modified versions of Sly’s older albums, Sly had filed a case in the court against his managers for cheating Sly in the payment issues, he stated that he didn’t receive any payments for his songs during 1989 to 2009 and Justice in Los Angeles had given five million dollars for that case in 2015.
