Charles Douglas Goodwin, also known as "Doug Goodwin," is an American musician born on April 21, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Growing up, he enjoyed a musical childhood that included private piano lessons besides regular schooling. Songwriter, composer, pianist, author, and carpenter—these are just a few of the skills he possesses. He is the creator of a record that ranks among the best Northern Soul classics and has also written numerous songs you will undoubtedly recognize.
As a young man, he was a member of the band as a pianist while serving in the US Army Special Services in Korea, and he worked to expand his songwriting skills after his service ended. In the early 1960s, he grabbed the attention of Joe Barbera of the iconic Hanna-Barbera production studios, which launched his illustrious musical career as a songwriter. This provided him the opportunity to compose music for many of HB cartoons, including The Flintstones, Yogi Bear Click to look into! >> Read More... , and the Pink Panther. Extinct Pink is his debut music piece for Pink Panther. In Extinct Pink, his music style can be defined as a musical composition that plays throughout the whole short, including the end credits. While the Pink Panther Theme we all know and adore by Henry Mancini Henry Mancini was an American Composer, arranger, >> Read More... still plays throughout the opening titles, the brief comprises around a minute of cues similar to William Lava's before the musical composition plays for the length of the short. Although this musical composition is jazz, it is not a variant of the primary theme. Additional melodies may be found in the final few seconds and also in the distribution credits. Extinct Pink is unique since the distribution credits feature odd music.
His work in Pink Panther has become almost synonymous with him, even though it is minimal in comparison to the hundreds of other songs he has composed which includes many classics. His other famous works include Bugs Bunny’s Looney Christmas Tales and The Ant and the Aardvark. Doug's crowning achievement was the composition of Cajun Hart's classic ‘Got to Find a Way (To Find You),’ a record that has stayed outrageously pricey for a lot of years and considered legendary even today.Â
