RENAN FRANZEN was born in the southernmost Brazilian city of Porto Alegre to a non-musical family who later emigrated to Los Angeles. He spent the last years of his boyhood there, where he also first held an electric guitar. He began taking private music lessons and joining bands when he returned to Brazil. He played the guitar in several genres while still in his teens and at the beginning of his twenties. Progressive rock, jazz, reggae, MPB (popular Brazilian music), and rock. In Brazil right now, Renan writes music for movies and television. Known for his work on the popular comedy series Necrópolis, Renan Franzen is a composer (2019). His most recent project is the eagerly awaited full-length movie Empty House, which was made by Giovani Borba together with the video game Squadron 51, both of which are slated for 2022 releases, and produced by Tatiana Sager.
At the most recent Cannes Film Festival, he was one of the extremely few composers chosen for the program Spot the Composer. Composer Renan Franzen has been creating music for the past 16 years and has received multiple nominations. He was able to acquire a diverse musical background thanks to his upbringing in Brazil, which ranged from Brazilian Popular Music to more strident rock styles. He enjoys experimenting with his music, which accounts for his varied musical tastes and background. He has been working with musicians and film directors all over the world from his studio. The short film "No Love Lost," which was made by Shekhar Bassi, is his most recent cinematic endeavor. The movie had its international premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival in October 2013 and has since screened at more than 50 festivals, where it has received nominations and awards like the Van Gogh - Cinematic Vision Award at the Amsterdam Film Festival in 2014 and other honors.
He earned his first nominations at the WILD ROSE INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL and the INTERNATIONAL SAMOBOR FILM MUSIC FESTIVAL. The debut solo album by Brazilian composer Renan Franzen is titled O FIO DA MAEDA. The EP includes two instrumental compositions that reinvent Brazil's Choro genre and its "Orquestra Tpica" ensemble using woodwinds, brass, percussions, and electronic colors. The EP takes its name from a slang term used by weavers during the industrial revolution in Brazil. It can also be used to imply that you have lost your "course of thought." The EP, which took social isolation to its logical conclusion, was recorded all over the world. Regular collaborators from countries such as North Macedonia, Spain, Finland, China, Ukraine, and various states in Brazil got their score sections and recorded them in their home studios. Renan assembled, blended, and created the components in his studio.
