Selena Marie Gomez's birth was on 22nd July 1992 in Grand Prairie in Texas. She is an American actress cum singer, who was born to Ricardo Joel Gomez and Amanda Dawn " Mandy" Cornett. She completed homeschooling in 2010. Apart from singing and acting, Selena is an executive producer, philanthropist, and a fashion designer. She is popular for her “Barney and Friends” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.” “Wizards of Waverly Place” is the Disney series in which Selena performed the lead role, Alex Russo from 2007 to 2012. Selena has a band “Selena Gomez and the Scene.” She formed it in 2008. She has also played in the Hollywood movies, Ramona and Beezus, Monte Carlo, Hotel Transylvania and Spring Breakers. She also made her solo album in the year 2013, through “Stars Dance.” The solo album ranked number one in the US Billboard 200 and was also in the Billboard Hot 100. Aspiring to achieve a successful career in music, she formed the pop-rock band Selena Gomez and the Scene, which released their debut album in August 2009. The band then went on to release two more albums.

Selena then released her debut solo album” Stars Dance” in July 2013. This was her first album to have top the Billboard 200. After that in 2014, she released a compilation album “For You” to finalise her deal with Hollywood Records.
