Regina King was born on January 15th, 1971. She is a film and television actor. She is known for her roles on 227, Jerry Maguire, Southland and voice work for the Boondocks. Regina attended Westchester High School and then the University of Southern California. Regina began acting in 1985 with her role on the TV show 227 s Brenda. The show ended in 1990 which after she would go on to appear in the highly celebrated and highly significant movie, Boyz in the Hood. She also starred in Poetic Justice as well as Higher Learning. In the early 2000s Regina began roles on television. One role was her voice acting for the TV show, The Boondocks and the other was her lead role on the show Southland. Her role in Southland got her nominated for Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in both 2012 and 2013.
