New York, USA, is a television and film actress who has predominantly worked in Hollywood. Her mother Margaret was a school teacher while her father Arnold Leo III was a fisherman, Grove Press's editor, and used to be a spokesperson of the Association of East Hampton Baymen.
She also has a sibling named Erik Leo. When she was a child, her parents separated, and her mother shifted to her maternal home in Red Clover Commune, Putney, with both her children with her maternal grandparents namely Frances and James Chessington. Roger Leo, her uncle, is a journalist while her aunt Christine Leo Roussel is an art historian.
Melissa studied at Bellows Falls High School. As a child, she was interested in performing arts and was a regular performer at the Bread and Puppet Theater Company. He has also taken formal education in acting from London's Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and SUNY Purchase. However, she left the institution before graduating and started to give audition for other crucial roles.
