Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard is a French singer, actor, song composer, environmentalist, and speaker for Greenpeace. She was born on 30th September, 1975, in Paris, France. She lived in Orleans. Her parents were Jean-Claude Cotillard and Niseema Theillaud. Her father is a teacher, actor, ex-mime, and director. Her mother is a play teacher and actress. She had two young brothers, Guillaume, and Quentin. Guillaume is a director and screenwriter. During her childhood days, she used to work on stages in her father’s directed plays.

Coming to her career, she appeared with small roles in the series titled ‘Highlander’. She presented herself as Lori Belgian in the episodes of Nowhere to Run. She did some scenes on the show, Saving Grace. Then, in 1990, she began her movie career through small acts in My Sex Life, Coline Serreau's directed La Belle Verte, and How I Got into an Argument. Arnaud Desplechin directed My Sex life. Then, in 1996, she had a lead ingénue of a teenage girl who was forced to move into the world of prostitution in ‘Chloe’. She co-starred with Anna Karina. She did a comedy-cum-action picture, ‘Taxi’, in 1998, as Lilly Bertineau. She is the girlfriend of Daniel, who is a delivery boy. She was nominated for the most Promising Actress in the Cesar Award. She acclaimed the public with its two sequels, named as Taxi 2 and Taxi 3. In 1999, she did a science-fabricated cinema, ‘Furia’. She featured in War in the Highlands, and received the award for Best Actress at the Autrans Film Festival.

In 2001, she portrayed herself as Jeanne Moreau in ‘Lisa’. Her co-stars are Sagamore Steven and Benoit Magimel. She also did ‘Pretty Things’, that year. Gilles Paquet-Brenner made it. She played the role of two different twins, Marie and Lucie. She received nominations for Best Promising Actress at the Cesar Award. In 2002, she did the role of Clarisse in A Private Affair.

Besides all these, she is a guitarist, and plays the tambourine and the keyboard. She composed La Fille De Joie, Happy Crowd, The Strong Ones, and The Eyes of Mars.

Coming to her personal life, she had relations with Julie Rassam. Then, from 2000 to 2005, she dated Stephan Guerin-Tillie. From 2007, she had relations with Guillaume Canet. They had a son, Marcel. In 2014, she denied her marriage with Canet.
