Heidi Klum is an immensely talented and internationally acclaimed German model, actress, business tycoon, garment maker, and television host and producer. Born on 1st of June, 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach, Cologne, Germany, she went on to become the first German to be a Victoria’s Secret angel. After some convincing from her friend, she enrolled in a national modelling contest called “Model 92”. After winning this contest, she was offered a modelling contract by the CEO of Metropolitan Models New York. She accepted this contract after graduating from school.
Appearing in the swimsuit issue of 1998 Sports Illustrated helped her gain the status of a supermodel, and she has made her appearance as a cover-girl in various popular magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire and Harper’s Bazaar. Heidi Klum debuted as an actor when she made a guest appearance on the sitcom Spin City. She has also worked in other movies such as “Blow Dry” (2001), “Ella Enchanted” (2004) and “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers” (2004). She also helped in the development of the reality television series for fashion designers, called “Project Runway” along with
Harvey Weinstein, and hosted the show too. This show has received many accolades such as an Emmy award for “Outstanding Picture Editing for Reality Programming” in 2009. In addition to this, she also hosts the show “Germany’s Next Top Model” and has been serving as a judge in the show “America’s Got Talent”.
She has appeared in a few shows as herself. Klum became Barbie’s official ambassador and even has a Barbie doll of herself in the year 2009. On the personal front, Heidi married stylist Ric Pipino in the year 1997. They got divorced in 2002 after which she started a relationship with the Italian managing director of Renault’s Formula One team, Flavio Briatore. She had a daughter with him, named Helene Klum. She started a relationship with Seal in the same year and went on to marry him. She has three biological children with him. They divorced in the year 2012 and she has been dating Vito Schnabel since 2014. Klum has led Walk for Kids and also made contributions to the Red Cross after Hurricane Sandy, due to which she was honoured with the Crystal Cross Award by the American Red Cross in May, 2014.
