Eliza Jane Taylor was born on 24 October, 1989 in Melbourne, Australia. She is an actress. Her mother is an author and her step-father was a stand-up comedian who influenced her to make her career in the world of entertainment. She has two sisters and a brother. She stands to remind everyone that your humble beginnings do not define your future, and that you can achieve anything if you work hard for it. During her school days she wanted to be a marine biologist, but God had planned something else for her.
She made her acting debut at the young age of 14, as Sarah Redding on Pirate Islands. Here she played the lead role. After Pirate Islands she acted in the 2003 movie The Sleepover Club and played the character of Rosie Cartwright. It was the Australian soap opera ‘
’ (2005) that brought her name, fame and recognition. She is best known for her regular role as “Janae Timmins” in that TV series. In 2007 she was nominated for Inside Soap Awards in the category of Best Actress for the TV series 'Neighbours'.
In her free time, she loves to play the guitar and write songs. Not only this, she worked as an acting teacher at The Actors Nest Fitzroy Street, St Kilda (Melbourne). She bagged her first film in the 2012 thriller ‘6 Plots’, where her performance was appreciated by the audience a lot. She also did an episode of the TV show Winners And Looser. On 1 March, 2013 she bagged a role as a leading character playing Clarke in the new CW post-apocalyptic drama show called The 100 which was premiered on 19 March, 2014.
During one of her interviews she mentioned that she had not actually auditioned for the role of Clarke in the series The 100. She was facing a tough time those days. She was living in Los Angeles for a month and her credit card had got stolen and all of her money was already spent on home deposit and she had run out of cash. She was ready to pack her bags and go back to Australia because she didn’t know how she was going to survive in LA any longer. Then she got a call from her manager that the audition which she had given for one of the films was seen and liked by the makers of the show, The 100, a lot and they wanted to cast her as a lead character in their TV series.
This is how she got the role of Clarke. She won E! Online Best Ever TV Awards for Best Kiss for the TV show The 100 in 2015. She always had a regret that she was always on the set. As she was always working her studies had gone down to the bare minimum required. It’s crazy for her to think now that she had such a bizarre adolescence.
