The tall and handsome Johnathon Schaech was born on September 10, 1969, in Edgewood, Maryland USA. His father was a law enforcement officer and mother was a HR executive. He studied Economics at the University of Maryland, and simultaneously started learning acting. He was raised as a roman catholic and is of German and Italian descent.

After choosing acting over dancing as a career, John did a few commercials and small roles in movies. He would also learn under the acting teacher, Roy London, until his death in 1993. After a few modelling projects, he would appear in his first movie called, ‘The Webbers’, in 1991. He was then casted in Franco Zefferelli's, ‘The Sparrow’, in 1993, opposite Vanessa Redgrave. He then appeared in ‘The Doom Generation’ as a sexy psychopathic drifter in 1995. The film went on to gain a cult following and John’s face became somewhat familiar among people. He then gave a memorable performance in Jocelyn Moorhouse’s, ‘How to Make an American Guilt’, playing the role of a local Romeo.

In 2008, he played the role of a murderous teacher in the horror film, ‘Prom Night’.
